Newcastle United announce management change at Academy
The club today revealed that Joe Joyce had left his position as Academy manager. A United statement read: “The club would like to thank Joe for his service, and wishes him well for the future.”
Consett-born Joyce – who played for Barnsley, Scunthorpe United and Carlisle United during his own playing career – was appointed to the role 15 years ago. The 60-year-old was reportedly stood down from the role in February.

Hide AdHarper – who had been assisting Newcastle first-team head coach Steve Bruce this season – has taken on the role “on an interim basis” until the summer, according to the Premier League club. The 46-year-old– who played 199 first-team games for the club – retired from playing five years ago. Harper is also Northern Ireland’s goalkeeping coach.
The club statement added: “A further announcement on Academy management will be made in due course.”
