The French frontman has penned a deal with the Magpies, just days after his close friend Allan Saint-Maximin signed a bumper new six-year contract on Tyneside.

Indalecio has been on trial with United this summer having most recently spent time playing lower league football in Australia with Fraser Park FC.

The 23-year-old, who can also operate as a No10, will join the club’s under-23 squad for the upcoming campaign.

Indalecio is a former Saint-Etienne academy graduate, where he played with Magpies winger Saint-Maximin. He has also spent some time playing in the USA.

The forward follows on from the signing of former Schalke and South Africa under-20 defender Bradley Cross and the £200,000 capture of Peruvian No10 Rodrigo Vilca, both of whom made their debuts in this week’s Premier League 2, Division 2 victory over Fulham at St James’s Park.
