Newcastle United consider emergency move into transfer market
Willems suffered a “horrendous” knee injury in last night’s 1-0 win over Chelsea at St James’s Park, while Dummett is facing a lengthy spell out with a hamstring problem.
The injuries have left Bruce short on the left side of defence. Asked if the club would look to sign a left-back in this month’s transfer window, head coach Bruce said: "We’ll have to see how serious injuries are. We might have to revisit it in that area."

Hide AdMeanwhile, Inter Milan winger Valentino Lazaro is a target for Newcastle. Asked after the game for an update on the club’s transfer business, Bruce said: "I can't (give an update). I haven't spoken with the CEO (Lee Charnley) today. We’ve got one or two things spinning."
