Newcastle United fans given hope of return by Premier League discussions

The Premier League will restart next week behind closed doors following a three-month hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic – and there are fears that most, or all, of next season could have to be played in empty stadiums.
However, the Mirror report that the Premier League has met Government officials and medical experts to discuss the possibility of letting supporters back inside grounds. Some fans could even be allowed into Wembley for the FA Cup final on August 1.

Hide AdThe move comes after La Liga president Javier Tebas floated the idea of letting a small number of fans into stadiums before the end of the campaign.
Tebas said: “If we can have even 10% or 15% by the end of the season ... that's a sign that we are getting back to some form of normality.”
