Resisting the temptation to rest players, Bruce has left just one player out – Florian Lejeune – after he played four games in just 11 days after a long-term injury.

Here’s how you’ve been reacting to the team news on Twitter...

@NUFC360 – “All in all, far stronger than I thought we’d be, Bruce won’t have it against him for going for it. Would’ve thought we could have started one or two youngsters. I just pray we avoid injuries first of all, and going through to fourth round second.”

@LeazesEnd1892 – “It's nice to see a full strength line up in a 3rd round cup tie. At least we can say Bruce picked his strongest team if there is an upset.”

@geordie_travels – “I did not expect to see us fielding such a strong 11. Fair play to Bruce for not bottling it - he knows how badly the fans would love a cup run!”

@JamesFernienufc – “That is a very strong line up no excuses today and there is no question about it joelinton simply has to have a good game otherwise we might as well cut our losses and get rid of him.”

@Kevin_Nichol - “Will Atsu be able to beat a league 1 fullback?”

@NeilJonNUFC – “No offence to Rochdale but if Joelinton can’t score against a team that are bottom half of League One then there’s a bigger issue than confidence!”
