Meanwhile, United are set to bin three of their fringe players.

According to the Athletic, Javier Manquillo and Ki Sung-yeung will both be up for sale in January, while Rob Elliot will NOT get a new deal in the summer.

Elsewhere, Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall is wanted by both Newcastle and Everton in the January transfer window.
