Joelinton sends crystal clear message to Matthias Jaissle on Newcastle United position debate
Newcastle United star Joelinton is willing to do whatever it takes to get Newcastle United back on track.
Joelinton is willing to play anywhere to help steady the ship at Newcastle United.
The Brazilian played the final half an hour of the 4-1 defeat to Coventry City - his first appearance this season. A hamstring injury suffered against Strasbourg a week before the Premier League opener left Matthias Jaissle without his vice-captain.
With Dan Burn also sidelined, there has been a lack of leadership in the Newcastle ranks. He also returned to action in the dying embers as the Magpies were thrashed at the CBS Arena.

Joelinton on where he fits under Matthias Jaissle
A lot has been made about where Joelinton will fit into Jaissle’s system. Unlike his predecessor, Eddie Howe, who deployed the 30-year-old in a three-man midfield, the German prefers a 4-2-3-1 setup.
Joelinton - who famously joined the club as a No.9 - is keen to play anywhere to help Newcastle following a second successive away drubbing. When asked if he had spoken to Jaissle about the system, the vice-captain told The Gazette: “Not much, I've just come back now. No matter which position he puts me in, I try my best for the team.
“I try my best for the fans, like I always have done. I came into the midfield and it's not (too) different (to) the way we played with Eddie. I'm positive that things are going to be better.”
Joelinton gives fitness update
Jaissle must now decide whether to start Joelinton against Aston Villa this weekend. Both clubs have endured mixed starts to the campaign after being raided over the summer.
At times, Newcastle’s midfield has looked limp and few possess the Brazilian’s presence in the engine room. Joelinton has insisted he is feeling good and should return to full fitness with more minutes under his belt.
“I'm not far away (from full fitness), I think,” he added. “I've worked a lot before coming back. Of course, with my game time, it's a different thing to training, but I'm feeling good. I hope to be 100 per cent as quick as possible.”
