Wow - the crazy Matias Fernandez-Pardo fact that will stun Newcastle United supporters

Newcastle United are set to sign Belgian international Matias Fernandez-Pardo. for £51million.

Newcastle United incoming Matias Fernandez-Pardo was the fastest recorded player in Ligue 1 last season.

As reported by The Gazette, Toon chiefs are on the brink of their eighth summer signing after agreeing a £60million deal for the forward. Nico Gonzalez was the initial priority to replace outgoing skipper Bruno Guimaraes.

Once he arrived, Toon chiefs were always expected to push for a forward player to bolster Matthias Jaissle’s frontline. Fernandez-Pardo is now set to be that man after Newcastle reached a £51million agreement.

Ligue 1 speed machine

As is always the case with overseas arrivals, supporters have frantically searched on YouTube for a glimpse of Fernandez-Pardo. A versatile forward capable of playing as a striker, No.10 and on either flank, the 21-year-old is certainly an exciting prospect.

Toon fans will also be treated to another speedster in the final third. Not content with Will Osula and Anthony Elanga, Newcastle have signed the quickest player in France.

Fernandez-Pardo racked up a staggering top speed of 35.51 km/h last season. For context, he was only slightly slower than Elanga, who registered 36.35 km/h.

Transfer domino effect

Elsewhere, his arrival will likely see Nick Woltemade head to Juventus on loan. The German created Yoane Wissa’s clincher at the weekend but a move to Italy awaits.

Juve have agreed personal terms and waited for Newcastle to add a forward to their ranks. Fernandez-Pardo is the guy - giving Toon fans more reason to celebrate following Sunday’s win over Tottenham Hotspur.
