The 3-0 scoreline in favour of the Gunners extended the Magpies and Bruce’s winless run to nine matches, scoring just four goals in the process.
United fans once again took to social media to voice their anger towards the 60-year-old, with a large majority calling for him to walk away from the job.
Bookmakers this morning have slashed odds on the former Manchester United defender being the next Premier League manager to be sacked.
Paddy Power have also opened up a ‘next Newcastle manager’ market. Check out our gallery to see the early contenders leading the way – if Bruce is to leave St James’s Park:
Hughes, 57, has been out of management following a brief spell in charge of Southampton in 2018. While he wouldn’t be a popular choice, he does bring plenty of top-flight experience having managed Blackburn Rovers, Manchester City, Fulham, QPR and Stoke City. Photo: GLYN KIRK
The 43-year-old effectively led Bournemouth from the bottom of League Two and into the Premier League with three promotions in six seasons, all while playing an attractive brand of football.
