Newcastle United picked up a deserved 2-0 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday afternoon - here are the player ratings from the match.
After a goalless first half, William Osula opened the scoring early in the second half as he turned in Jacob Murphy’s low cross to make it 1-0. Joe Willock had a goal ruled out following a VAR check for offside before Harvey Barnes made it 2-0 shortly after with a smart finish from Amar Dedic’s cross.
The win saw Newcastle move up to seventh in the Premier League table on 11 points from their opening eight matches.

Here are the Newcastle United player ratings from the match...
Lukas Hornicek - 7
Alert to keep out a pinball in the penalty box in the opening minutes. A tough afternoon distributing the ball in very windy conditions. Made a stunning stop to deny Darío Osorio in the second half to keep his clean sheet intact.
Amar Dedic - 7
Brought pace and energy from right-back on his return to the starting line-up. Was a bit wasteful in possession when trying to find a teammate with a pass or cross in the first half but got his delivery spot on to set up Harvey Barnes in the second. His fourth assist of the season
Fabian Schar - 7
His first Premier League start since January. Up against a physical forward in Jean-Philippe Mateta and conceded an early free-kick against the French forward which led to Palace's first big opportunity of the game. Was later booked for another foul on the Palace striker. His trademark long balls out from the back need recalibrating but got stuck in defensively to keep a clean sheet.
Dan Burn - 7
Also making his first Premier League start of the season. The more composed of the two centre-backs as Newcastle kept their first clean sheet in five league matches.
Lewis Hall - 7
Tried to get on the front foot and attack and kept his calm defensively despite being booked.

Nico Gonzalez - 8
The pick of Newcastle's underperforming line-up in the first half with some smart passes and handled the ball well under pressure.Guilty of some reckless fouls and was booked as a result. Played an important role regardless and his quality shone through.
Joelinton - 6
Typically made his physicality known and played a great ball through to release Willock, who was narrowly offside. It was the only real moment of on the ball quality from the Brazilian.
Joe Willock - 6
Struggled to get involved in the first half but broke away nicely and applied a tidy finish early in the second half only for VAR to rule out the goal.
Jacob Murphy - 6
A passenger in the first half but came alive early in the second with a sharp cross into the box to set up Osula's opener. Ultimately justified his return to the starting line-up with some solid defensive work too.
Harvey Barnes - 7
Got the ball in some decent areas but kept seeing his efforts blocked in the first half. Did well early in the second half to turn in Dedic's cross for his fourth of the season, doubling Newcastle's lead in the process.
William Osula - 7
A nice opportunity opened up for him in the first 10 minutes but he held on to the ball and saw his effort blocked. Hardly touched the ball in the first half but scored with his first touch inside the box within two minutes of the restart, a smart finish.
