Newcastle United player ratings v Crystal Palace: 'Unconvincing' 4/10 & 'confident' 8/10 at half-time
Newcastle United 0-0 Crystal Palace player ratings: Here’s how Yoane Wissa, Sandro Tonali, Anthony Gordon and co have fared so far.
Newcastle United are drawing 0-0 with Crystal Palace at St James’ Park on Sunday afternoon - here are the half-time player ratings from the match so far.

Eddie Howe made one change from the side that beat Burnley 3-1 at Turf Moor on Tuesday with Jacob Murphy coming into the line-up in place of Harvey Barnes.
The Magpies were boosted by the returns of Kieran Trippier, Tino Livramento and Sven Botman on the bench.
Newcastle had the ball in the net inside the opening 20 minutes as Anthony Gordon turned the ball into an empty net after being played in by Yoane Wissa. But Wissa was deemed offside in the build-up following a VAR check.
The Magpies had a second goal ruled out for offside at the end of the half as Joelinton found the bottom right corner of the goal, but the linesman quickly had his flag up.
Will Hughes then shot just wide for Palace in their best chance of the first half in stoppage time.
Despite Newcastle finding the net twice and being on top in the opening 45 minutes, the sides went in goalless at the break.

Here are the Newcastle United half-time player ratings from the match (full-time ratings available here)...
Nick Pope - 5
Had very little to do.
Lewis Miley - 8
Looked confident in possession and carried the ball forward well. Newcastle’s best performer in the opening 45.
Malick Thiaw - 7
Composed defending and dealt with Jean-Philippe Mateta’s potential breakaway.
Fabian Schar - 6
Came close to opening the scoring with a close-range header but was denied by the goalkeeper. Inconsistent with his passing but did release Joelinton with a smart ball for the second disallowed goal.
Lewis Hall - 5
Kept his place in the side after a couple of knocks at Burnley. Had a couple of uncharacteristically iffy touches and passes early on. Forced a save from Dean Henderson with a powerful strike from the edge of the box.

Sandro Tonali - 6
An improvement on his recent displays with tidy passing and good energy.
Bruno Guimaraes - 7
Looked to have played a great ball through to Wissa for Newcastle’s disallowed goal, but the striker was just offside. Played a few promising balls forward to break the lines.
Joelinton - 7
Brought good energy to the midfield and made his presence felt. Also started a few attacks with passes into the Palace half. Had the ball in the net at the end of the half with a good finish but was just offside.
Jacob Murphy - 4
Kept giving the ball away on the right and lacked his usual delivery. Unconvincing in and out of possession.
Anthony Gordon - 6
Broke away and set up Wissa for a good early opportunity. Had the ball in the net early on, but it was ruled out for offside. Lively and looking to make things happen.
Yoane Wissa - 6
Had Newcastle’s first shot of the game inside the opening few minutes, but it was straight at Dean Henderson. Unselfish to play the ball to Gordon, but he was just offside in the build-up. Had a few clever touches to bring his teammates into the game.
