It will be PSV’s first game back in England since their 4-1 Champions League victory at Liverpool back in November.

Bosz’s side boasts an impressive away record, having not lost on the road in any competition since March 2025.

Both sides head into the match knowing a win would likely be enough to secure progress to the knockout rounds of the competition.

Looking ahead to the match, Bosz was asked how he views Newcastle.

“With admiration,” he responded. “We played Liverpool. But this will be a totally different game than Liverpool.

“Their physical strength, their height, the intensity with which they play. It is certainly a big game. It is a challenge.”

NUFC ‘more difficult’ than Liverpool

And when asked if he expects a more difficult game compared to the one his side faced at Anfield, Bosz referenced Newcastle’s recent 4-3 win over Leeds United, which saw them grab a 102nd-minute winner.

“Yes [a more difficult game], like I said, a different style of play,” he said. “I would advise the Dutch to watch the Newcastle v Leeds game.

“It’s the best game I have seen in the last 10 years. This is how football should be played. And why you should watch football.

“110 minutes long. This is football.

“Newcastle did a good job. But they didn't give up, even in the last minute. They won the game. But there were chances, intensity.

“If I am not at a club, and not professional, I would like to see a game like that.”

Following Wednesday’s match, Newcastle host Aston Villa in the Premier League before wrapping up their Champions League group phase with a trip to holders Paris Saint-Germain next Wednesday.
