The club, which is now safe from the threat of relegation, today revealed that Wilson suffered a hamstring injury in Friday night’s 4-2 win over Leicester City.

A club statement on Twitter read: “Callum Wilson will miss the final three games of the 2020/21 season after injuring his hamstring during Friday's win over Leicester City. Speedy recovery, @CallumWilson.”

Wilson, signed from Bournemouth last month in a £20million deal, had returned from the hamstring injury he suffered in February last month. The 29-year-old scored twice against Leicester to take his Premier League goal tally for the season to 12 from 26 appearances.

Speaking at the King Power Stadium, Bruce said: “He’s one of them big players. You can see the difference he gives to the team. I’m personally delighted for hi. He’s a huge team player too, which is vitally important for all of us.”
