Wilson, signed from Bournemouth last month in a £20million deal, had returned from the hamstring injury he suffered in February last month. The 29-year-old scored twice against Leicester to take his Premier League goal tally for the season to 12 from 26 appearances.

Speaking at the King Power Stadium, Bruce said: “He’s one of them big players. You can see the difference he gives to the team. I’m personally delighted for hi. He’s a huge team player too, which is vitally important for all of us.”
