Dylan Thompson played for the club’s Under-23s as a trialist in their 4-0 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers this afternoon.

The 18-year-old, described as a “ball-playing centre-back” by Everton’s official website, played the full 90 minutes at Aggborough. Thompson joined the club aged 12, having previously represented Blackpool.

Defender Matty Bondswell, signed last month following his release from RB Leipzig, came off the bench to make his United debut.

Winger Christian Atsu played 80 minutes.
