AFC Bournemouth confirmed this week that Scotland international Fraser refused to sign a short-term contract extension, which would have allowed him to play in the rest of the Cherries’ games this season.

But Fraser will instead leave on a free transfer when his current deal on the south coast ends on June 30, making him unavailable for the visit of Newcastle to the Vitality Stadium.

Newcastle are thought to be keen on the Scotsman as well as Crystal Palace, Wolves, but according to Metro, Spurs and Arsenal have cooled their interest.

Meanwhile, United have been linked with a move for a wonderkid from the Far East.

Luqman Hakim, according to Arena, has reportedly been interesting the Magpies.

The 18-year-old signed a five-year deal with Belgian outfit K.V. Kortrijk last year.
