It's a bit of a free hit for both sides, with the Blades already relegated, and the Magpies safe from the drop with time to spare after a strong tail-end of the season from Steve Bruce's side.
Speaking ahead of the game, defender Paul Dummett, whose contract is set to expire next month, was quizzed on whether he'll extend his stay with Newcastle, and said: “Hopefully I’ll make my 200th appearance on Wednesday but I’m hoping to add as many more as I can.
“I’ve been at the club for a long time now, so hopefully I can extend my stay and keep on creeping up with those appearances.
“If you had told me as a young kid I’d be playing 200 games for Newcastle, I would have snapped your hand off. To hopefully do it on Wednesday night will be a great achievement for the family and I.
“It’s something I’ve worked really hard for and hopefully there will be many more to come in the future.”
Meanwhile, Bruce has insisted his side will be looking to maintain their winning attitude ahead of tonight's game against the Blades, with a strong focus on putting on a show for fans returning to St James' Park.
