Newcastle United have confirmed just one permanent transfer this month with Javier Manquillo moving back to Spain to reunite with Rafa Benitez at Celta Vigo. It had appeared that the Magpies would be relatively quiet this month, however, a flurry of reports surrounding the futures of a couple of key players has sparked the window into life on Tyneside.
Both Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson have been linked with moves away this month whilst Newcastle still have a job to do in order to trim Eddie Howe’s squad and free up some money in order to sign any replacements, should either Trippier or Wilson leave this month, Here, we take a look at 15 players that could leave Newcastle United this month, and five that won’t leave St James’ Park before deadline day:
5. Joe White
White has returned to Newcastle following a good loan spell with Crewe Alexandra. He will be assessed by Eddie Howe and may play a part in and around the first-team. If not, he could be allowed to leave on-loan once again.
6. Dylan Stephenson
Stephenson is expected to leave the club this month with National League, National League North and Scottish clubs reportedly interested in his services.
7. Cameron Ferguson
Ferguson has spent time on-loan at Forfar Athletic this season, but has returned to the north east. He will likely be allowed to leave on-loan again this month.
8. Isaac Hayden
Hayden had his loan at Standard Liege cut short by Newcastle United this month, but the former Hull City is expected to be sent out on loan once again. A host of Championship clubs have shown interest in signing him on a temporary basis, meaning Hayden and Newcastle are likely to have plenty of options to assess before deadline day.
