Newcastle United have confirmed just one permanent transfer this month with Javier Manquillo moving back to Spain to reunite with Rafa Benitez at Celta Vigo. It had appeared that the Magpies would be relatively quiet this month, however, a flurry of reports surrounding the futures of a couple of key players has sparked the window into life on Tyneside.
Both Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson have been linked with moves away this month whilst Newcastle still have a job to do in order to trim Eddie Howe’s squad and free up some money in order to sign any replacements, should either Trippier or Wilson leave this month, Here, we take a look at 15 players that could leave Newcastle United this month, and five that won’t leave St James’ Park before deadline day:

9. Ryan Fraser
Fraser has enjoyed a very successful loan spell at Southampton. The Saints are interested in making his loan move into a permanent one, however, that is unlikely to happen this month and may be dependent on the Saints being promoted back to the top-flight. | Getty Images

10. Rodrigo Vilca
Vilca has just a few months left on his Newcastle United contract and will likely leave the club at the end of the season, if not before it. | Getty Images

11. Bruno Guimaraes
Guimaraes’ release clause, and the threat that a club could trigger it at any time, means the Brazilian is always at risk of leaving Newcastle United - although there is little to suggest that it will happen this month. | AFP via Getty Images

12. Matt Ritchie
Ritchie signed a one-year extension this summer but was left out of the club’s 25-man Champions League squad earlier this campaign. He is an influential member of the squad but he may look to move elsewhere to get more regular game time. | Getty Images
