Salomon Rondon reacts to 'strong rumours' of Premier League return
Salomon Rondon came close to joining Manchester United six months after being reunited with Rafa Benitez in China.
The striker – who spent last season on loan at Newcastle United from West Bromwich Albion – was a target for Ole Gunnar Solksjaer last month.
Dalian Yifang, Rondon’s new team, can’t play because of the coronavirus outbreak.
Asked about Man United’s interest in him by Spanish newspaper AS, Rondon said: “There was something. It was not smoke.
“They were rumours, and very strong.”
