Newcastle United, as they have been for the last few transfer windows, have been linked with signing a huge range of players in the upcoming summer transfer window.
With all these links comes huge debate in the fan base and on social media about which players Newcastle should look to sign when the window opens.
Of course, with that, also comes a huge swell of opinion about which players Newcastle should not be targeting for a move this summer.
Here, we take a look at a selection of players that have been linked with a move to Newcastle United this summer and judge whether or not the Magpies should pursue a move for them.

5. Joao Palhinha
Palhinha has been great for Fulham this season after a £20miliion move from Sporting Lisbon this summer. The Portuguese international could act as a No.6 in Howe’s system. Verdict = target. Photo: Warren Little

6. Kieran Tierney
Newcastle United have been linked with a move for Tierney and everything about a potential deal just makes sense. He can play at left-back or as a makeshift centre-back if needed, is Premier League proven and is someone that isn’t getting game time at their current club. If Tierney is allowed to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer, then Newcastle should be making enquiries over his signature. Verdict = target. Photo: Stuart MacFarlane

7. Antonee Robinson
Both Manchester City and Newcastle have been linked with a move for the USMNT defender. He has been very solid for the Cottagers this season and is someone that would improve the options at Howe’s disposal. Verdict = target. Photo: Clive Brunskill

8. Renan Lodi
Newcastle are in the market for a left-back this summer and have been linked with going back in for Lodi - someone they were extensively linked with last summer. The Atletico Madrid man is currently on-loan at Nottingham Forest but hasn’t shone like many might have anticipated. Verdict = avoid. Photo: Shaun Botterill
