Newcastle United, as they have been for the last few transfer windows, have been linked with signing a huge range of players in the upcoming summer transfer window.
With all these links comes huge debate in the fan base and on social media about which players Newcastle should look to sign when the window opens.
Of course, with that, also comes a huge swell of opinion about which players Newcastle should not be targeting for a move this summer.
Here, we take a look at a selection of players that have been linked with a move to Newcastle United this summer and judge whether or not the Magpies should pursue a move for them.

9. Mason Mount
Mount is a very divisive figure in football with his impact in games often going unnoticed as he tends to do all the ‘unfashionable’ work. He has entered the final 18-months of his current deal at Chelsea and could be on the move this summer. Liverpool and Newcastle have been credited with an interest and whilst he would be a good addition to Howe’s squad, his wages could prove prohibitive to a deal. Verdict = avoid if wage demands are too high. Photo: Catherine Ivill

10. Raphinha
Raphinha has had a disappointing spell at the Camp Nou, however, if he is able to replicate the stunning form he showed for Leeds United last season, then moving for the Brazilian could be a shrewd move for the Magpies - if they are able to get a good deal for him. Verdict = target but only at a reasonable price. Photo: ANDER GILLENEA

11. Scott McTominay
Reports of Newcastle’s interest in McTominay has certainly split the Newcastle United fan base with debate raging on social media whether a move for the Scotland international would be a good option for the club. McTominay reportedly has a price tag of around £30million and whilst he would provide heaps of Premier League experience, that price may put the Magpies off a move. Verdict = avoid at reported price. 12. Dele Alli
Newcastle were linked with a move for Alli before he joined Everton in January 2022. Alli is now at Besiktas but has reportedly been frozen out of the team. Verdict = avoid. Photo: George Wood
