Steve Bruce considers THREE changes to his Newcastle United starting XI

Schar will replace the Ciaran Clark (calf) against Burnley this afternoon, but Bruce must also make a change because of the hamstring injury Allan Saint-Maximin suffered last weekend.

Striker Joelinton could be switched to the left, and that move would allow Andy Carroll, so impressive off the bench against Southampton last weekend, to return to the starting XI.

Bruce also revealed that Jonjo Shelvey (calf) and Miguel Almiron (hamstring) were doubtful in yesterday’s pre-match press conference, and Sean Longstaff and Christian Atsu are on standby to deputise.

“With muscle injuries, I don't think you can take that risk,” said Bruce, United’s head coach. “If at all they’re struggling, you can't risk it. If they pulled up and then they're out for a month, six weeks, we'll all look stupid, so we'll err on the side of caution, even though we've got a few problems.”
