Krafth is doubtful for Sunday’s game against Liverpool after suffering an ankle problem in Monday night’s goalless draw against Brighton and Hove Albion.
Watts – who has had loans spells at Stevenage and Mansfield Town this season – was an unused substitute at the Amex Stadium, where right-back Krafth was fielded out of position in central defence with Fabian Schar, Jamaal Lascelles, Florian Lejeune and Ciaran Clark all sidelined with injuries.

Hide AdAsked if Watts, 20, could play if Krafth fails to prove his fitness, Bruce said: “There’s a possibility, but the boy hasn’t played for something like five months. It’s a big ask if you haven’t played at all.
"He was out on loan, and did well, but it’s a big ask for someone to come in and make their debut when they haven’t had a game for so long.”
