Steve Bruce reveals why he took off Ciaran Clark

Steve Bruce lost Allan Saint-Maximin to a hamstring injury late in the 2-1 win, which lifted the club up to 10th in the Premier League.

However, Bruce lost another player – defender Ciaran Clark – to an injury at the break.

“Ciaran’s injury was his calf,” said head coach Bruce, who is without Jamaal Lascelles until the New Year.

Clark was replaced by Fabian Schar, who hadn’t played since suffering a knee injury in October.
