Reaction from Steve Bruce
"There wasn't much in it. We are delighted to take a point in difficult circumstances and very pleased for Jacob, who has been knocking on the door all season. I am delighted for him."
Miles Starforth’s FT verdict
Newcastle never really got going as an attacking force today, but there was a doggedness and determination about their defending which will have pleased Bruce after last weekend's performance. They stuck at it, and thanks to Murphy, are heading home to Tyneside with a hard-fought point.
Jacob Murphy on his late goal
"Last night, in the hotel, I did a bit of research on the goalie," he told Sky. "I knew anything hard and low would catch him out. I looked around at the side of the wall and saw the little gap there and I thought, 'Yeah, hit it there.'
