But just how much is every Magpies player worth?
Here we delve into the statistics from that original survey and reveal how the value of United’s £205million squad is actually broken down, according to transfermarkt.
Some of the values are fair – but some are way off the mark. We start with the goalkeepers...
9. Paul Dummett - £4.5m
Played at left-back or left centre-half, Dummett has proven he is Premier League class during his time at United. What's he worth? It's hard to say. But to be honest he's worth a whole lot more than this to Bruce's Magpies. | Getty Images Photo: Mark Runnacles
10. Jetro Willems - £4.5m
On loan at United at present but it is likely this will be made permanent next summer, if he continues to progress. | Getty Images Photo: Ian MacNicol
11. Emil Krafth - £2.25m
Solid and dependable the Sweden international looks a decent summer addition. United did pay £5m, though. | Getty Images Photo: Julian Finney
12. Jamie Sterry - £68,000
The lowest valued member of the squad. He is, of course, outside of the Premier League 25. | Getty Images Photo: HECTOR RETAMAL
