But just how much is every Magpies player worth?
Here we delve into the statistics from that original survey and reveal how the value of United’s £205million squad is actually broken down, according to transfermarkt.
Some of the values are fair – but some are way off the mark. We start with the goalkeepers...
17. Ki Sung-yeung - £5.2m
One year left on his deal, this valuation is way too high. A decent player, but no one is paying north of £5m for the South Korean international. | Getty Images Photo: Ian MacNicol
18. Isaac Hayden - £7.2m
Has been absolutely brilliant for United and can think himself unlucky he's not even been considered for international duty. A new deal would see his value rocket. Clubs would be doing well to get Hayden for less than £20m. | Getty Images Photo: David Price
19. Sean Longstaff - £6.3m
Manchester United were willing to pay £30m plus adds on for the player. So either Ole Gunnar Solksjaer or Transfermarkt have got something wrong. | Getty Images Photo: Mark Runnacles
20. Henri Saivet - £900k
United cannot give him away. | Getty Images Photo: Catherine Ivill
