FT - Newcastle United 2 (Almiron 17, Shelvey 67) West Ham United 2 (Antonio 4, Soucek 66)

  • We’ll have the best of the build-up, action, post-match reaction and analysis.
  • NUFC XI: Dubravka; Krafth, Fernandez, Lascelles, Manquillo; Hayden (Bentaleb 42), Shelvey; Saint-Maximin (Lazaro 69), Almiron, Joelinton (Andy Carroll 81); Gayle (Ritchie 69).
  • WHUFC XI: Fabianski; Fredericks, Diop, Ogbonna, Cresswell; Rice, Soucek; Bowen, Lanzini (Noble 57), Fornals (Yarmolenko 74); Antonio.

Steve Bruce has been talking to the media - and here’s what he had to say...

"Unfortunately I don't think I could ask Allan to go again on Wednesday, that's for sure. Our two, arguably, fittest players in Sean Longstaff and Isaac Hayden have both got hamstring injuries. They're not serious but it's two or three weeks which probably rules them out."

Could it be the end of the season for Sean Longstaff and Isaac Hayden?

"If anybody has bought into what we require it's Jonjo. He's always been blessed with wonderful football ability but we've worked tirelessly on his physical aspects. That's down to him, the stuff he does has all been good. He's tried like anything to make it happen."

David Moyes reacts to 2-2 draw at Newcastle

“We came to Newcastle in a decent run of form, and I thought we did a good job. I’m really pleased we got something from the game. I thought Newcastle played quite well first-half, and made it difficult, but I thought we grew into it.”

Miles Starforth’s 90-minute view: ‘Defence needs tightening - but draw fair result'

“A point was about right in the end. NUFC played well at times, but they conceded two soft goals. The defence needs tightening just as the lockdown is loosening. Almiron and Shelvey, the goalscorers, played well, while Krafth looks much more comfortable as a conventional right-back. NUFC are unbeaten in six Premier League games, and finishing strongly. A top-10 finish isn't beyond them.”

Liam Kennedy’s GOOD DAY/BAD DAY

Jonjo Shevley was again excellent in the centre of midfield and Joelinton and Miguel Almiron put in an incredible shift at the top end. Federico Fernandez was back to his best, reading it like a book, in the centre of defence.

The first West Ham goal will be one Jamaal Lascelles will want to forget. I was far from impressed with Javier Manquillo at left-back. Danny Rose back for Man City?

And that’s that at SJP - NUFC twice come from behind to rescue a point

FAN VIEW: Our panel discuss a remarkable few minutes in this one with TWO goals in TWO minutes!

STEVE WRAITH: “What a crazy 2 minutes. West Ham taking the lead but Newcastle hitting straight back with a great finish by Shelvey. Not a game for defenders today.”

DAVE BLACK: “A crazy few minutes, the game was drifting and there were few chances. We’ve defended the corner poorly but it’s a great response, everybody thinks Gayle is offside but he’s a mile on and it’s as you were.”

GRAEME BELL: “Wow wow wow what is happening here! What a goal that is. It’s brilliant from Shelvey, absolutely brilliant. What a response!”

2-2 - remarkable stuff!
