It had been widely reported that the goalkeeper’s contract at Newcastle United expired this summer.

Darlow himself refused to comment on his contractual situation after playing in the FA Cup on Tuesday night.

However, the Gazette understands that the 29-year-old is under contract at the club until the summer of 2021.

Darlow’s contract length was undisclosed when he joined the club in 2014, and United have not revealed an extension.
