Newcastle, according to reports, are keen to explore a potential loan deal with Manchester United for out-of-favour England international Phil Jones.

Magpies manager Steve Bruce is looking to strengthen in the January window with further striker options, a midfielder and defensive recruits all being considered.

The 28-year-old made just two Premier League appearances under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last season and is yet to get off the mark in the top-flight during this campaign.
