West Brom's 'windmill' message to Newcastle United fans as FA Cup fifth round date is revealed
West Bromwich Albion have a message for Newcastle United fans ahead of the club’s FA Cup fifth-round tie at The Hawthorns.
Steve Bruce’s side advanced to the last 16 of the competition for the first time in 14 years following a dramatic finish at Oxford.
The League One club shocked the Magpies with two late goals to level the score at 2-2 and force the game into extra time before Allan Saint-Maximin prevented a potential upset with a 116th-minute winner.
Saint-Maximin ran to the club’s travelling fans, but one supporter took his celebration too far, and a clip of it went viral on social media.
After confirming the tie would be played on Tuesday, March, 3, West Brom tweeted: “Confirmation of our fifth-round clash with Newcastle United.
“We would like to remind @NUFC supporters The Hawthorns is a windmill-free zone.
Albion also confirmed the Magpies have taken up the full 15% away allocation.
