We're expecting a deadline day full of drama and intrigue, as a number of high profile deals look to be concluded - a process which could see some clubs' pursuit of players go right down to the wire. Here's a look at where Newcastle United and all their Premier League rivals are looking to strengthen before the window shuts.
5. Leicester City - Central defender
Ol' Brendy Rodgers is looking to make his impressive Foxes side even stronger, as they're on the hunt for a centre-back or two. Southampton' Jann Vestergaard and Preston's Ben Davies are key targets. (Photo by Catherine Ivill/Getty Images) | Getty Images Photo: Catherine Ivill
6. Everton - Midfield
Both of Everton's key targets look to be stalling, with a real lack of progress on deals for (the appropriately named) Everton Soares and Matias Vecino. Still, Carlo Ancellotti should be able to pull something out the bag. (Photo by Chris Ricco/Getty Images) | Getty Images Photo: Chris Ricco
7. Burnley - Defender
Transfer activity is rarely frenzied at Turf Moor. If they get anyone, it'll be a defender to shore up that leaky defence. They're among a host of clubs to be linked with St Etienne's Harold Moukoudi. (Photo by Ian MacNicol/Getty Images) | Getty Images Photo: Ian MacNicol
8. Chelsea - Striker
Frank Lampard's side - as he's repeated until blue in the face - just can't finish their chances at the moment. He wants a striker to compete with Tammy Abraham, and will be desperate to beat Atletico Madrid to PSG's Edinson Cavani.
