Northern League: Boldon CA challenged to kick on in historic promotion bid
Boldon CA are looking to boost their bid for promotion into Northern League Division One this weekend.
Boldon CA have been challenged to ‘keep the momentum going’ as they return to their push for promotion into the Northern League’s top tier on Saturday.
The Villa outfit are sitting in third place in the Division Two table ahead of their home game with Seaton Carew after losing just one of their 14 league games so far this season. The mood is understandably positive on the back of last weekend’s FA Vase first round win against local rivals Jarrow - and joint-manager Chris Spence has insisted there is more to come from his players.

He told The Gazette: “Saturday was a fantastic win for everyone involved with the club. Not just to progress in the competition but to get one over our local rivals made it even more special. Everyone knows the league is our priority and we’ve made a really positive start to the season so we need to keep pushing and building on that. We’ve got a run of home games coming up now. Hopefully we can make the most of that and keep the momentum going.”
However, Spence has warned his players they will face a major challenge when they host a Seaton Carew side that have impressed after securing a historic promotion into the Northern League last season.
He said: “Seaton Carew have made a good start to their Northern League campaign and are pushing around the play-off spots so we know we’re in for a tough game. There are no easy fixtures in this league and we’ll have to be at our best to get the result we want.”
