Northern League: Mixed emotions for Jarrow boss after Tow Law draw
It was a busy weekend across both divisions of the Ebac Northern League.
Jarrow manager Kennie Malia was left with mixed emotions after his side were held to a goalless draw in their home game with Tow Law Town.
Malia’s men were full of confidence heading into the game on the back of their six-goal demolition of Durham United just seven days earlier - but their shooting boots were left at home as they struggled to find a way through a determined Lawyers side.

Both sides struck the woodwork throughout a hard-fought affair - but the deadlock remained in place when the full-time whistle was blown at Perth Green. The draw means Jarrow remain unbeaten in all competitions this season and are still in the play-off places - but Malia admitted he was ‘a little disappointed’ his side were unable to collect a more lucrative reward for their efforts.
He told The Gazette: “I currently feel a little disappointed that we haven’t been able to take all three points after missing two very good chances late on. But today's draw still keeps us unbeaten in 12 this season and it means we have kept another clean sheet so overall, it’s not a bad day for us to be honest.”
Jarrow will now take a break from their bid for promotion into the Northern League’s top tier as they turn their focus towards next Saturday’s FA Vase second qualifying round home tie against Division One side Marske United and that precedes a return to league action when Jarrow visit Sunderland RCA side seven days later.
