As reported last week, Sunderland face competition from several Football League clubs to land the Bristol City striker on loan – with Doncaster favourites.

The 19-year-old netted six times during a loan spell at Newport County last term, but is yet to get off the mark at Bristol City.

“Sunderland have already declared an interest but Bristol Live understands that Doncaster Rovers are leading the chase for the attacker who will benefit from more first team game time elsewhere.”

On Semenyo, Phil Parkinson told the Echo: “He is a player we have looked at and has pace and power. He is someone we have been monitoring.”

League Two sides Swindon Town and Newport County are also interested.
