Rochdale boss Brian Barry-Murphy wants to see his players ‘try to have a go’ at Sunderland in the League One game at the Stadium of Light tonight.

Sunderland, fresh from their 1-0 win over Ipswich Town on Saturday, are looking to build on that when Dale head to Wearside.

Ahead of the game, Barry-Murphy told Rochdale’s club website: “It’s a brilliant game for us.

“We can’t wait to go to their stadium and take them on. Our support away from home has been amazing this season.

“They’ve been patient and understanding about what we’re trying to do, which was typified again today.

“It’s a chance for all of us to go there and – have a go is a cliché – but we definitely will try to have a go.”

Rochdale have a virtually fully fit squad to choose from ahead of the League One game at the Stadium of Light.
