These are the dates Sunderland will play in the League One play-offs - IF they can't make the top two

The final game day of League One has also been disclosed by the EFL as Sunday, May 9 – with Sunderland still hoping they can make the top two.

EFL clubs to finish between third and sixth place will earn a play-off spot in League One.

Sunderland are currently third with eight games to go behind Peterborough United and Hull City.

Lee Johnson’s men are now five points adrift of second-place Posh but a game in hand.

The Black Cats are eight points off league-leaders Hull City but have two games in hand and a game to play against them.

EFL clubs from the Championship will get the action underway on Monday, May 17, with the first legs in all three divisions due to be completed by Thursday, May 20.

The play-off semi-final second legs will take place between May, 21 to 23, including three fixtures from the Championship and League One on Saturday 22 May.

The finals weekend at Wembley will take place across the May Bank Holiday, with the League One play-off final taking place on Sunday, May 30 with a 12pm final.

League One match A, first leg – Tuesday, May 18, 2021 – 18.00

League One match A second leg – Friday, May 21, 2021 – 19.45

League One match B second leg – Saturday, May, 22 2021 – 15:00

League One play-off final – Sunday, May, 30, 2021 – 15.00
