What next for Rafa Benitez and Salomon Rondon after far-reaching decision?

Rafa Benitez took over at Dalian Yifang last summer after leaving Newcastle United – and he took former loanee Salomon Rondon to China.

However, Benitez, linked with a return to the Premier League, and Rondon do not know when Dalian will next play a game, with the Chinese Football Association having postponed the start of the league season indefinitely as the authorities attempt to stop the spread of the deadly virus.

The decision was taken to “protect the health of the majority of fans, media, players, coaches, game officials, clubs and district staff”, according to the CFA.

A number of big-name players have reportedly instructed their representatives to explore moves out of the country before tomorrow night’s transfer deadline, and The Times today report that Manchester United are interested in taking Rondon on loan.
