The Hornets were well placed to secure one of the three promotion places on offer in Northern League Division One before the coronavirus epidemic brought a premature end to the campaign.

The Football Association’s decision to void the season meant that the Hornets remaining five home games will now no longer take place.

However, the club’s committee have now decided that current season ticket holders will be offered free entry to all FA Cup and FA Vase home ties as compensation for missing out on those fixtures.

A club statement read: “The football club hugely appreciates the support of all of our supporters especially those who took advantage of our season ticket offer last season and understand that by missing the last five home games of the season due to the Covid-19 outbreak that supporters have missed out somewhat on the full value of their purchased season ticket.

“As our supporters are everything to us the club have come up with a proposed solution for our 2019-2020 season ticket holders, we hope you all feel it’s appropriate after a unexpected cancelled season.

“The board have agreed that all 2019-2020 season ticket holders who purchased their season card will gain FREE admission for all home scheduled FA Vase and FA Cup fixtures in the 2020/2021 season as the club will foot the costs incurred for these games.”

The club have asked that current season ticket holders send an email to [email protected] containing their full name, their 2019-20 season ticket number, the type of season ticket and confirming if they are accepting the club’s offer.

Hebburn have also asked that supporters keep possession of their season ticket.
