A third trip to The Fortune Hotel is looking increasingly unlikely, at least according to reports. ITV’s answer to The Traitors returned this summer for another season of twists, turns, and Caribbean sunshine.
Stephen Mangan has hosted both seasons of the show, which sees ten pairs jet off in the hope of winning £250,000. The second series returned in August 2025 with multiple episodes per week.
But could we have seen the last of the ITV reality show? Here’s all you need to know:
The Fortune Hotel ‘set to be axed’ after two seasons

TV Zone UK reports that the reality series is facing an uncertain future and potential could be ‘axed’ after just two outings. A source told The Sun: “The huge sum of money involved in making the challenge show means that unless execs can find some inventive way to fund series three, it’s highly unlikely to happen.
“When you’re paying millions to launch a programme, it really needs to get the viewing figures to get any kind of return on the investment. Though it got a decent following, they just couldn’t justify shelling out so much moving forward. The jackpot alone was eye-watering"
An ITV spokesperson added: “The Fortune Hotel hasn’t been confirmed for another series at this stage, and talks are still underway regarding the show's future.
“Both previous series are available on ITVX, where the show regularly ranked amongst the top ten shows, and this summer the second series received 4.4 million streams as part of ITV’s biggest ever August."
First debuting back in 2024, the show returned in August this year. It held its 2025 final on Friday, August 29 and it saw Nella and Tope take home the £250,000.
See who is the current favourite to win I’m a Celebrity in 2025. It looks set to be a close race between two frontrunners.
