Singer, rapper, producer and king of club bangers, Example, is on his first headline tour in six years, performing all his biggest hits as well as material from his latest project, Bangers & Ballads. 10. The Sound of Music, Sunderland Empire, until February 15
The Sound of Music is running at Sunderland Empire until February 15. The North East’s very own Emilie Fleming (BBC One’s Over the Rainbow, Les Misérables) stars as Maria, alongside screen and stage star Andrew Lancel (Coronation Street, The Bill) who reprises the role of Captain von Trapp. This musical masterpiece tells the true story of the world-famous Trapp family, from their romantic beginnings and search for happiness, to their thrilling escape to freedom as their beloved Austria becomes part of the Third Reich at the start of the Second World War. The score includes Edelweiss, My Favourite Things, Do-Re-Mi, Climb Ev’ry Mountain, So Long, Farewell and of course, the iconic title song, The Sound of Music. Photo: Ste Murray
