How you can apply for a job delivering Cream Curls’ sweet treats across South Shields - and get staff discount on your ice cream rolls

A popular South Shields dessert parlour is looking for new delivery drivers to cope with increasing demand.

Cream Curls, which opened its flagship store on Ocean Road in 2018, has gone down a treat in the area and is now delivering desserts straight to South Shields front doors.

Famous for its signature dish, ice cream rolls - garnished with almost any topping you can imagine and made fresh in front of customers’ eyes – the parlour also offers a wide range of sundaes, cakes, waffles and bubble cones.

Since launching its delivery service with Just Eat three months ago staff at the store have struggled to cope with demand.

Earlier this week they announced they would be increasing their delivery radius to within seven miles of the Ocean Road branch and are now looking for local residents to fill new delivery driver positions.

“We have expanded as the demand is so high and have had to advertise for more drivers,” said business development manager, Masood Mohammed.

“We have only started delivering in the last three months but we have been surprised by the take up of it.”

He added: “Sunday nights in South Shields are absolutely crazy we just can’t get enough staff in.

“We’re looking for local people who know the area well, particularly to help at our busiest times over the weekend.”

The first Cream Curls franchise opened in Motherwell last year, with an Edinburgh branch due to open soon and a number of enquiries from overseas.

Earlier this week the Ocean Road branch also launched its new Burger Joint menu, expanding its offering to American diner-style favourites, including deluxe burgers, wedges, nachos and popcorn chicken.
