This step will begin at least five weeks after step one and will be dependant on the data.

Are delays in opening hairdressers likely?

Boris Johnson says the easing of lockdown will be based on four tests which includes a five-week gap between the government’s four step plan, so if the data causes a delay to one step then this will have a knock-on effect.

He said: “If analysis of the latest data against the four tests requires a delay then this and subsequent steps will also be delayed to maintain the five-week gap.”
