Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter has a number of animals that are looking for their forever home.
The shelter, which was established in 1896, helps animals that are unwanted, neglected, abused and abandoned - as well as reuniting lost animals with their owners and finding loving new homes for those who are no longer wanted.
Here are 15 cute animals who are in need of a home - you can find out more at: https://www.dogandcatshelter.com/.
Take a look and see if you can open your heart and home to a new four-legged friend!

5. DJ
DJ is a lovely lad who initially struggled to settle in at the shelter. He is not a fan of other cats and so found the cattery environment very difficult to cope with. Once he was moved to a quieter area, he became a much happier boy, who is now super friendly with staff! He loves being made a fuss of and his meal times – being very vocal when he knows his food is on it’s way! He also enjoys having a good explore of his surroundings. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

6. Delilah & Delores (Pocket Bully)
Delilah and Delores are both gorgeous, friendly and delightful girls who have not been a pick of bother throughout their stay at the shelter. Initially, due to Delilah’s rehome journey being a little ahead of Delores’s, the girls were looking for homes separate from each other. However, the girls are so closely bonded and are so much fun together, whilst also being very well behaved, staff are very much hoping we can find a home where they can stay together. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

7. Gracey
Gracey is a lovely lady who has really grown in confidence since first arriving at the shelter. She is happy to say hello to all of the staff and volunteers and, once comfortable with you, will even climb on to your knee and rub into your hands to make sure she’s getting plenty of attention! She has also recently shown an occasional playful side and will interact with ribbon and string toys. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

8. Yeti (American Bulldog)
Yeti is a delightful, playful and goofy lad always on the look out for some fun and attention! Yeti arrived into care as a stray and was in quite a state bless his heart. His skin was in a terrible condition and his ears bled they were so bad; he must have been in so much pain. Despite being a chunky boy, Yeti still seems to believe he is a lapdog and will happily jump on you knee for a cuddle! | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter
