Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter has a number of animals that are looking for their forever home.
The shelter, which was established in 1896, helps animals that are unwanted, neglected, abused and abandoned - as well as reuniting lost animals with their owners and finding loving new homes for those who are no longer wanted.
Here are 21 cute animals who are in need of a home - you can find out more at: https://www.dogandcatshelter.com/.

5. Layla (French Bulldog)
Layla is a sweet and affectionate little lady who has a real playful and daft side! She’s been a pleasure to spend time with whilst at the shelter and quickly makes friends with everyone she meets! Layla does have some quirks which she will require ongoing training and management for. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

6. Joker (Lurcher)
Joker is a very confident and friendly lad who really enjoys being around people and getting attention from people. His other favourite things are food and chasing a flirt pole! Joker walked into the shelter without a worry in the world, but does find being in a kennel a little stressful, he is always super grateful when he is brought out for his walks. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

7. Willow
Willow is a sweet girl who sometimes has a hard time with her emotions! This is her second time in the shelter, she was brought into care last year and rehomed in November. When she first arrived in our care, she was shy initially but came out of her shell and staff got to know the lovely, affectionate girl that she is. After Willow got rehomed, her family got to know that Willow also sometimes likes things on her terms, and can occasionally be sassy or play too rough. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

8. Riggs (Lurcher)
Riggs is a friendly and social lad, he enjoys meeting people and dogs alike and does so with enthusiasm and a waggy tail! He is intelligent and energetic meaning he would love a home who can take him on long walks and lots of adventures, but staff are pretty sure he may also be a bit of a cuddle bug when in the home as he has shown them an affectionate side at the shelter. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter
