All the fun of the village fair as people fill the streets for South Shields celebration
Westoe Village Fair has been held for 30 years and is organised by its residents' association.
Funds collected from the day go to help good causes who are seeking support, with collections held in the streets, cash raised through stall fees and the proceeds of sales, activities and refreshments offered by the neighbours.

Singer India Mason also performed, as did the Harton Harmonisers choir.
Stalls included tombolas, tarot card reading, bric-a-brac, hot drinks, hot dogs and burgers, while Radio South Tyneside hosted the shows and played music.
Debbie Fenwick, a resident and member of the association, is a member of the team who brought together the event.

"People started arriving from 9.30am this morning and it was good to see people so keen.
"It's love to see everybody come along and it's good for Shields, it's a little bit of tradition and we will try and keep it going for as long as we can."
Among those to benefit in previous years has been Westoe Brass Band, which was supported by the funds as its members had their uniforms renewed.
