BREAKING: Newcastle agree fee for Tottenham's Andros Townsend

Newcastle United have agreed a fee with with Tottenham Hotspur for winger Andros Townsend.

Townsend is now expected to travel to Tyneside to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical.

The fee is understood to be in the region of £12million.

England international Townsend, frozen out at Tottenham by Mauricio Pochettino, is desperate to be playing week in, week out ahead of Euro 2016.

The 24-year-old yesterday posted a farewell message to Tottenham's Under-21 squad on Twitter.

He tweeted: "Been an absolute pleasure playing with the u21 boys the last 3 or 4 months!"

Townsend has been playing with the club's Under-21s since late last year.
