Assaults, thefts, harassment and vehicle interference - a round up of recent South Tyneside court cases

The following cases have been dealt with recently at South Tyneside Magistrates Court and all involve defendants from the borough:

Karl Edgar, 27, of Bicester Grove, Hebburn, was ordered to pay £100 compensation and complete 55 hours of unpaid work as part of a community order after admitting causing harassment, alarm or distress in Jarrow on June 23.

Robert James Averre, 30, of Green Banks, Jarrow, received a 12-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay a £22 victim surcharge after he admitted breaching a restraining order on June 30.

Gemma Linda Campbell, 36, of Downham Court, South Shields, received a community order and was ordered to pay £593 compensation after she admitted three counts of stealing £706 of cleaning products and candles from Wilko on February 11, February 14 and March 18.

Mark Stuart, 29, of Birchington Avenue, South Shields, received a six-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay a £21 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs after he admitted urinating in a public place on February 2.

Daniel Flood, 40, of Belgrave Terrace, South Shields, was placed on a community order and ordered to pay a £90 victim surcharge after he admitted interfering with a motor vehicle and the attempted theft of items from a motor vehicle on May 26.

Carlton Adams, 26, of Alice Street, South Shields, was ordered to complete 120 hours of unpaid work as part of a community order, pay £150 to his each of his victims, pay a £90 victim surcharge and £85 court costs after he admitted assaulting two males on March 15.
