Assaults, threats and speeding through A19 roadworks - a round up of latest South Tyneside court cases

The following cases were dealt with by South Northumbria Magistrates’ Court, which sits at both South Shields and Sunderland recently:

Kenneth Graham Holden, 38, of Lincoln Road, South Shields, was fined £466, was ordered to pay an £85 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs and to complete 240 hours unpaid work as part of a community order after admitting using threatening or abusive words or behaviour on December 19 last year and breaching an earlier suspended sentence.

Michael Andrew Robson, 30, of Victoria Road East, Hebburn, was fined £200 and ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting possessing amphetamines on August 14.

Robert Joseph Ball, 42, of Somerset Road, Hebburn, was banned from driving for 20 months, fined £1,000 and ordered to pay a £100 surcharge and £85 costs after admitting drink driving on April 8.

Callum Robinson, 19, of Regent Court, South Shields, was fined £160 and ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting assault, criminal damage and making threats on June 3.

Robert Leslie Carroll, 59, of Hudson Road, Sunderland, received three penalty points on his licence, was fined £40 and ordered to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting speeding through the A19 Testo’s roadworks on January 14.

Neal Jeffrey Dixon-Cornella, 61, of Sunderland Road, South Shields, was fined £133 and ordered to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting possessing cannabis on November 27 last year.

Christopher Kane, 24, of Boldon Lane, South Shields, was ordered to complete 80 hours unpaid work as part of a community order and to pay £300 compensation, a £94 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting committing assault on May 13 and causing criminal damage to a door on May 14.
