Will Osula major Newcastle United injury update issued hours before Everton clash
Newcastle United v Everton team news: William Osula suffered an ankle injury last time out against Everton.
Newcastle United striker William Osula has arrived ahead of Monday night’s Premier League clash against Everton at St James’ Park.
The 23-year-old striker started the Carabao Cup defeat against the Toffees on Thursday night before being forced off at half-time with a twisted ankle.
Following the loss at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, Magpies head coach Matthias Jaissle claimed he was unsure whether Osula would be available for Monday night’s match.
“Will Osula was not able to continue; he twisted his ankle on that occasion when he took the shot,” Jaissle said: “It's too early at the moment [to see if he’ll be able to play on Monday].”
But Newcastle have been boosted by Osula’s arrival ahead of Monday’s Premier League clash. The Danish forward scored in Newcastle’s previous Premier League match at Crystal Palace and has contributed six goals in his last nine Premier League starts stretching back to last season.

Newcastle sit 12th in the Premier League table following the weekend results but whoever wins the match tonight would move up to seventh.
The Toffees have won each of their last two visits to Newcastle in the Premier League and would leapfrog them in the table with another win.
